commutative property of rational number

Commutative property of rational number, the number is said to be a rational number if it can be written as {x such that p/q ∈ R and q ≠ 0}.a and b are two commutative number. If a= 2, b= 12

 (1) addition of commutative number

a + b = b + a

2  + 12= 12+2

14 =14 verify addition of commutative number

commutative property of rational number

(2) multiplication of commutative number

a × b = b × a

2 × 12 = 12 × 2

24  =  24

Verify multiplication of commutative number.

EXAMPLE OF RATIONAL NUMBER:

(i)  1 can be written as 1/1 therefore 1 is a rational number.

(ii) 2 is a rational number, 2 can be written as 2/1.

(iii) 3 is a rational number, 3 can be written as    3/1.

All perfect and complete number is called a rational number

and fractional terminating number is also called rational number.

EXAMPLE :

(1) o.5 is called a rational number, it can be written in the form 1/2.

(2) 1.5 is a rational number. 1.5 can be written in the form 15/10.

(3) 0.3333333……    Is a terminating rational number, can be written in the form 3/10.

NOTE:

(i)commutative property of rational number, addition, multiplication, hold and

satisfy on these operations.

(ii) commutative property of rational, subtraction and division does not

and satisfy on these operations.
